Mirjana Rajilić-Stojanović, PhD

Dr Mirjana Rajilić-Stojanović holds a cum laude PhD in the field of gut molecular ecology and is an expert for gut microbiota diversity. She works as an Associate Professor at University of Belgrade, at the Department for Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology. Dr Rajilić-Stojanović is a trans-disciplinary researcher, teacher and entrepreneur.

The research topics include development and application of molecular methods for studying gut microbiota; identification of associations between microbiota diversity and (intestinal) diseases; microbial taxonomy and systematics; development and evaluation of the interaction of functional foods (probiotics and prebiotics including polyphenols ) with microbiota and health; use of medicinal herbs for development of functional foods, and biomaterials.

Dr Rajilić-Stojanović has authored 57 scientific articles, five book chapters and two patents and has presented as an invited speaker on over 50 conferences and meetings.
